By Divya Toshniwal

Happiness is a subjective experience that is influenced by various factors which can be internal or external, like your environment, your past experiences, your genetics and the people around you.

Recent research in the field of positive psychology has shown that happiness can be cultivated and increased through various practices and habits.

Focusing on what you are grateful for in your life and eliminating the thoughts on what you do not have can lead to increased levels of happiness.

Express Gratitude

Regular physical activity has been shown to increase happiness levels as it helps you release happiness hormones. It also improves overall  health and reduce stress.

Be Physically Active

Building strong relationships is crucial for happiness. Spending time with loved ones and forming meaningful connections with others can lead to increased happiness levels.

Build Social Connections

Practicing mindfulness and being present in the moment can help you focus on what is important and reduce stress. This will increase overall happiness levels.

Practice Mindfulness

Evolution has wired us to help each other. Our bodies are structured in such a way that when we give to others or help others it helps release happiness hormones like oxytocin and reduces the cortisol. So, when we give, we naturally feel happier.

Helping others

Happiness is not just a fleeting emotion, but a state of being that can be cultivated through intentional practices.
